- Leading in the development, implementing and measurement of external and internal Media based communication plans.
- Managing day-to-day media relations/media requests for brand and corporate issues.
- Creating a revised media crisis management plan for client use.
- Determining appropriate media responses via various channels.
- Developing written materials including press releases, Q&A, media standby statements on brand and corporate issues as required.
- Building relationships with key media contacts and identify opportunities to proactively pitch brand and corporate stories through social media outlets as appropriate.
- Developing relationships with national and regional press contacts to ensure the company reputation is promoted and to deflect criticism.
- Detecting public relations issues as they emerge and address them directly.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of Brand PR programs to support brand building initiatives/innovation/corporate promotions.
- Writing speeches for CEOs, Chairmen etc and coaching on delivery performance where appropriate.
- Providing training to board members and senior staff on how to handle media interviews – both for broadcast and written outlets. This focuses on key messaging, how to deflect difficult questions, staying in control, body language, etc.
